The following images show examples of our hand drawn layout plans. Hand drawn plans are fast becoming a rarity these days, with many opting for the convenience of computer drawn plans, but we’re not convinced that computers are anywhere near flexible enough yet to replace the traditional combination of artist and draughtsman required of the traditional garden designer. Sustainable design in gardening terms means the creation of a garden which is both ecologically friendly and bio-diverse. We’ve been creating these types of gardens for years and know exactly what works and what doesn’t in our local climate and conditions. The good news is that it can works well and it can look great! Good planting isn’t just about what looks good – it has to take into account what will work in the conditions found in each particular garden. The considerations include (among a great may other things!) available light, soil type, drainage and the orientation of the garden. Ongoing management is another key consideration – what is right for the keen gardener may not be right for someone with mobility issues or less time to spare on maintenance. We juggle all these issues in consultation with you to make sure your garden looks good, and just as importantly, is manageable! Click any image to zoom, scroll down for further images.
